Denise Keighery BSW, Dip Ed, was appointed as a Committee member of HANZA in 2016, following 12 months on the Promotions sub-committee. Denise has worked as a social worker in Disability, Aged Care, Education and the Court system. Prior to this, she worked as a teacher in primary and special schools, and as a social justice consultant with schools. Denise’s interest in and support of Homeshare date back to its beginning in Melbourne through her association with HANZA’s secretary and founder, Carmel Hurst. Homeshare’s underpinning values of mutual respect and reciprocity appeal to Denise. She worked diligently ensure that everyone sees the advantages and possibilities of Homeshare, and retired from the Committee in 2018 due to increased family commitments.
